Eurotrip 2011

Today is the day. Drive day. Went to the car joint and found they had no audis. Instead got a BMW 525. Sorry micra im trading u in. this car is great. After getting lost leaving berlin 3 times at the same point, im blaming the gps we eventually made it to the autobahn. I had to be constantly reminded to not drift into other lanes but whoo ive driven on the autobahn. And I was impressed at my speed but there were cars flying past me. We eventually made it to Wiebke's.

Now Europeans and soccer, at the train station because a game was on there were cops in riot gear and not just 1 or 2 but 40 or 50. This year is a bad year for bremen 1-1 draw. Time for a new coach.

Next day we headed up to Hamburg and had a tour around. Its a really nice city, seen the red light district, can't wait for Amsterdam. The town hall is impressive too massive and really old. Went down to the harbour and seen a new development with all really cool architecture. Seen A street that only males can go up . That night headed to the fair, this place is so much fun. A beer stall every 20 metres. Had a blast then headed out to an irish pub which had some German karaoke. So bad. Tried a fosters being all patriotic and what not. It was terrible no wonder no aussie drinks it.

Next day Wiebke showed us around Bremen. Now Bremen has some cool stories. Like the 4 town animals, a cool stone u spit on cause some chick got executed there for killing 15 of her family. Also went to the church and climbed up the bell tower carrying ash. Not fun. Went to an old school part of town where the pram just fit down all in all a good day.

Off to france... Caught a train to Coln and had a few hrs there. The dom cathedral is so impressive. Like wow, then went shopping up a massive street filled with so many different types of shops i hate clothes shopping with chicks arghhhh. . Eventually time to leave so on the next train to Paris. This train is fast sitting round 320 km it motored.

Well im home now but dont worry I am in the process of catching thr blog up. Between no net, no time and hung over it got neglected but stay tunned.

Ok so where was I. Ummm Rome. Trevi fountain. Oh ok. Well after our tour we had a great dinner up some alley. Food was good, waiter was a possibly drunk welsh, and we couldnt really move much because every time a car went past we had to move our seats in. All in all was a great meal. Also tried some grappa, taste like ass. After dinner decided to go our for a little while. Found a little cafe selling 1 litro of cocktails for €14. I didn't learn my lesson in milan so got 1 litre of long island iced tea. It came out in a vase with a massive straw so u had to stand to drink. With 1 drink down we started to chat to some french guys. I aussied named them bill jeff and some thing else I can't remember. But yeah was fun, so ordered a second drink. Now because im not stupid I didn't order a long island, instead opting for a sex on the beach. 2 litres of alcohol knocked aleesha out so aimee and I decided to go for pizza, mmmmm and chatted to a heap of young Italian people. Had some discussion about communism, music, a great night.

Next day not much was acheived, lots of sleeping.

Day after lol, we decided to check out Pompeii. We got there fine, again we are beginning to think we are nailing this public transport thing. Train to naples than a tram to pompeii. At pompeii it was strange and kind of eiree especially seeing the bodied. It was massive and would have been huge back in the day. So once we finished there the tram was having issues or a strike or some thing so a bus was on its way. An hour later a tram appeared on the track so after a mad dash to get there before it left we got on. Then a nice 10 minutes before the train to rome. We are nailing this public transport.

Next day was a high speed train to venice. 2 hrs quickest train trip ever. Once we reached venice it was just so amazing. Like you've seen pictures but seeing it is so different. Deffinatly a must for any one. Aleesha dissapeared to the opera so ash and I went expoloring taking turns choosing which direction. Found some great little alleys and so many bridges. Next day was off to lido and a touristy 4 person bike. Took it off road trying to find a beach and was first attempt at driving/riding on the wrong side of the road. That night took a gondola ride. Now that is unreal. It was so quiet and just wow. Close to highlight so far.

Now after thinking morning flight was at 8 which ment for a 5am morning I checked and our flight wasnt until 12:45. Bonus. Not so good is easy jet or possibly marco polo airport. The venetians can do boats but not planes. 3 planes worth of people checking in on 2 counters. After 2 hrs made it to the gate with minutes to spare. And no reserved seats pile on.

After a quick flight we are in berlin and damn the shorts I got yesterday I am not going to need. We pull out our jackets and head into town. At the train asked a lady if this is the right train and she said yes but with a heavy german accent she sounded angry, I answered with a graci. Damn wrong language and just as getting good at yes/no/thank you in italian.

The motel lives up to its name check point charlie was 100 metres away. Berlin is such an interesting city, its so old but industrialised and the remnants of the wall used as art. Not much happened in Berlin it was really just a quick stop over before Bremen ( said breeemeen) otherwise no one has an idea where your going. Um Berlin....would be good to spend some time there do some exploring.
